Texas 2 Welcomes Aspire Futbol Club and San Antonio United Soccer Club

DALLAS, May 14th, 2024 -- Texas 2 has announced that Aspire Futbol Club and San Antonio United Soccer Club will join the league, expanding the Texas 2 to 11 teams overall.


Launched in 2024, Texas 2 is an independent second division league founded by MLS next clubs in Texas for boys U11-U19. Inspired by MLS Next, Texas 2 will provide its clubs and players the best player development experience, the highest levels of competition offered in Texas, and an easy travel schedule all within the state of Texas.


"We are thrilled to welcome both Aspire Futbol Club and San Antonio United Soccer Club to the Texas 2 league," said Texas 2 in a statement. "These two clubs compliment our founding member clubs well with unprecedented top-tier competition right here in Texas. The reaction to the announcement of Texas 2 has been incredibly positive in Texas and nationally, and we are looking forward to matches this fall."


Aspire Futbol Club and San Antonio United Soccer Club join founding member clubs: AC River, Capital City Soccer Club, Dallas Hornets, GFI Academy, Houston Rangers, and IDEA Toros.

The Texas 2 inaugural season will kick off in fall 2024. Additionally, high school aged players will have the opportunity to engage in high school soccer, further enriching their developmental journey. Leadership from the founding members will form the technical committee, which will oversee all technical aspects of Texas 2.
